the real deal feedbak meal

we showed our awesome music video to the group.... and what do you know they ate it up like it was something delicious.... they came up with loads of constructive citism

the group labeled our video as the 'hardcore punk' genre...which was the exact genre we were aiming to create in our video, takin in to mind the speedy camera shots and grim lighting mainly focused on the music, like most of the videos in this genre... woo

Okay we've started filming and have footage of a location full of graffiti, the shots on this our just chill out/rock star shots so mostly hand held camera work making it look like a 'tour video' or something like that. The footage is good because its very much like other footage used in other music videos in a believable location. we're all dressed the part (mainly skinny jeans)... we used a tightly packed location to show the intensity of our 'real band footage' with amps drums guitars and wires everywhere to give it a realistic feel to it.
we used a variety of different shots of close up band members and full band shots by the end of it all we had over double the amount of footage we needed and that's just the shots with us playing instruments... also the drummer looks really really handsome.

bit more insperation

basically, our old ideas and other videos from artists like the one we are making a video of are still playing a huge part in our music video development, and as we're always looking for new inspiration. And when we came across a music video for the Iglu and Hartley single 'this city'

this mixture of live band shots and happy shots of the band chilling out on hand held camera is something we decided to include heavily in out video as many other bands of our genre also choose do to this. obviously the mood our song gives off a completely different feeling, so our shots will be more aggressive and towards the less chilled out side of free time, still hand held camera shots in it...

we've toyed around with a few locations, with graffiti and things.. and another chill out shots in a forest... as mos bands doing the chill out shots have completely different locations that could contrast, to get the viewer to know all sides of the band members.

ALSO.... we've got problem.. the fish eye lens camera thingy has been double booked so we wont have any of those shots, which we're irritated by, as a lot of shots in other heavier skater/emo rock videos use them... still not our fault... s'all good.

Targets and approach

Now that we have recieved all of our feedback we know what we have to do to make our blog even better! we are going to add in another piece of ex-student work and analyse it! we will also contact the band again to try and recieve lyrics from them and get a bit more research out of it!
